The Women's & Men's Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Trends Review

Woohoo!!!  Spring is here! That's for sure. I'd even say that Summer arrived to London already. Today was just amazing! I was chilling at St James Park. Fresh air, sun, birds, smell of freshly shaved grass... Anyway, are we ready for this season? We'll check this out, as I promised.
I've made some quick S/S'14 trends review to remind us what's currently hot. I know... we can go to any shop now and don't bother. It's all ready, waiting for us there. However, I don't know what is your closet-situation, but I'll better go and check mine first until I'll go shopping. Let's say that some of my clothes are old but brand new at the same time. I'd say even that generally I have a little or sometimes no idea what I already own. You know what I mean, don't you? So let's try not to be too enthusiastic about shopping and avoid doubling. Take some time to make what we have work for us. I can't believe that I'm actually saying that. LOL. Paradoxically just few days ago I said to myself "I have nothing to wear" in front of my closet. It's that moment which always send you to the shop. But at least, before you go, make sure that you know what you're looking for and it's not in your wardrobe already. Mach things!

Women's S/S 2014 fashion trends review:

Sportswear
Its a season bursting in street flavour and sportswear styling. Possibly the easiest trend to negotiate, the focus is on simple sports shapes re-imagined in luxurious fabrics. It's not really a sportswear that we know.

Flowers
It there any better trend than floral for the Spring? Designers went all out to give flowers a fresh spin. They encompassed whole range and made an irresistible motif for spring.

Midriffs
Exposed midriffs trend is back. Nice. The absolute rule: matching top and bottom halves. Result... very allure look. Only for brave and... slim!

Black & White
The classic black and white palette retains its style status for yet another season. This time designers took on a fresh 90's modern feel, giving to b&w modern makeover.

Pastels on top! Actually... It's not a surprise. All range of fresh colours with blue and pink as leaders. From head to toe.

Shimmering pieces for the spring? That's a bite surprising actually. And even more surprising is, that the time to shine this spring is until the sun goes down.

Paint swirls, colour-blocking, art-pop motifs and brush strokes,in all rainbow colours. Designers showed what fine-art is.

Designers brought back this season beautiful crease skirts. The best in a sporty cotton or shimmering long version.

Man's S/S 2014 fashion trends review:

There's no gap between men's and women's fashion trends. They are mostly the same. Of course, nothing like midriffs exist here, but there are other things that we may be happy with. These are main, and most showed trends on runways for this season:

Sportswear
If it comes to men's fashion, sport references have never been fart from runways, but it's one of lead stories this season.

Flower
Floral for spring is maybe not groundbreaking. However designers has spoken and flowers are hot this spring. And I am very happy about it!

Blue blue
It's the colour of the season. From baby to navy, either it's in solids or pattern. Blue is now like jeans in last summer. Everywhere. From head to toe, with different shades would be great.

Block stripes
Last season was big squares, this time - big stripes.  It will work for most guys. If not colourful striped jacket, put the stripes on a pair of trousers instead, team with a simple navy blazer and it all begins to make sense. Still not convinced? Well, pipe down and just wear some bold stripes on your tie or socks instead.

Bermudas
Long, large volume Bermuda shorts swept runways. It's very simillar to basketball shorts, isn't it?

Say good-bye to the stiff power suit. The new tailoring emphasized fluid lines, softer fabrics, longer jackets, and looser pants. Go oversize!

Leather
It's quite a surprise to see so much of this material on s/s collection. However by removing linings and making material as thin as possible,  leather became to be seasonally-appropriate fabric for shorts, trousers and t-shirts.

There's no doubt that our closet is not prepared yet. Well... maybe few new pieces would be useful. Sandals or slippers, anyone? :) However it is, remember to mix and match trends and clothes. It will always come up with something cool. So... shine bright like a diamond this Summer!
Also... for those who sometimes, or more often, forgets about healthy lifestyle (I'm the one), Summer starts in 10 weeks! Some work-out is more than necessary! I'll start from tomorrow!
